Six Supported Films and Filmmakers on POV’s 37th season
We’re thrilled to share that the newly-announced 37th season of POV will feature four Chicken & Egg Pictures-supported films and two supported filmmakers within its slate of 14 feature documentaries. As an organization dedicated to a thriving, inclusive documentary ecosystem, we’re proud these films and filmmakers will be spotlighted on America’s largest running nonfiction series. POV’s streaming platform and extensive reach offer a remarkable opportunity to amplify the voices of diverse filmmakers, allowing these films to reach diverse audiences who might not otherwise find them. IDFA Forum
At the IDFA Forum, innovators, including filmmakers, creators, producers, and industry professionals, unite to present their pioneering creative feature documentaries and new media projects. Our Program Director Kiyoko McCrae and Senior Program Manager Elaisha Stokes will be in attendance at the festival. They will be speaking at the IDFA academy (a training program for 110 selected emerging filmmakers coming to IDFA), taking 1:1 meetings and giving presentations on our programs and funding opportunities at the Industry Hub. They will also be hosting an IDFA industry lunch as an opportunity for us to celebrate our 2023 Chicken & Egg Award recipients.

The 18th edition of Sheffield DocFest’s flagship pitching forum, the MeetMarket, will take place on Thursday 15, and Friday 16 of June 2023. Over a Dozen Films Screening at Hot Docs Film Festival!
The 30th anniversary edition of Hot Docs will take place across Toronto from Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, May 7. We are egg-static to announce that 13 Nest-supported films are part of the lineup and there are also two AlumNest films featured. Hot Docs is North America’s largest documentary festival, conference, and market, and embodies a deep commitment to gender parity, with 53% female directors in this year’s official selection, according to Variety.

The Hot Docs Forum, one of the festivals’ flagship industry events, is where filmmakers are able to pitch to international decision makers. This year, they’ve chosen 19 Forum projects representing 16 countries and 23 filmmakers, 12 of whom are women and 11 of whom are BIPOC.
