Leslie Asako Gladsjo is a documentary director, producer, and writer. Her recent television credits include several PBS series such as African American Lives, which the New York Times called “the most exciting and stirring documentary on any subject to appear on television in a long time.” While based in Paris for seven years, Gladsjo made documentaries for European broadcasters including Arte, France 2, and BBC. Her award-winning independent films include Stigmata: The Transfigured Body and Truth Under Siege. Originally from northern California, Gladsjo graduated from Harvard University. She now lives in New York with her husband and two daughters.
