SYNOPSIS

Hot Girls Wanted is a first-ever look at the realities of the professional “amateur” porn world and the steady stream of 18-to-19-year old girls entering into it.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Black and white portrait.Jill Bauer, Co-Director, Producer, Sound Operator, is the co-director and producer of the documentary Sexy Baby, which had its world premier at the Tribeca Film Festival, followed by an international premier at Hot Docs and a European premier at IDFA. Sexy Baby had its broadcast premier on Showtime and won the Best Film by New Directors award at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival. Bauer, formerly a writer for the Miami Herald, is a Hearst and SPJ award-winning journalist, and has written for and edited several magazines and newspapers including Esquire, The Dallas Morning News, The New York Times, and she also launched Smart Kid, a national parenting magazine. She is the author of the non-fiction humor book From “I Do” to “I’ll Sue”: An Irreverent Compendium for Survivors of Divorce (Penguin Books).

Sexy Baby had its broadcast premier on Showtime and won the Best Film by New Directors award at Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival. Gradus graduated with a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and began her career as a photojournalist at newspapers in Virginia. She then became a staff photographer at The Miami Herald where she was dubbed by editors as one of the strongest among the 22-member photography staff. While there, she was sent on several assignments in Cuba and covered Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
